stop consuming is an iPhone app that helps you stop doomscrolling by pausing websites and apps that have been streaming video for a while. This policy explains what the app does with your data. The short version: nothing leaves your phone.

What the app collects

stop consuming does not collect, store on any server, sell, or share any personal data. There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking.

How filtering works

stop consuming uses Apple's on-device content filter (Network Extension) and Screen Time permission. To decide whether you are watching video, it looks only at how much data each website or app is downloading over time. It never reads, stores, or transmits the content of your browsing, messages, or videos.

Data kept on your device

Notifications

If you allow notifications, the app shows a local notification when a site is paused. Notifications are generated on your device.

Children

The app does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
